INDUCTION OF GRADUANDS FOR MAKASI, TIDOO, AND MBAGEN COLLEGE OF HEALTH TECHNOLOGY BY THE CHPRBN
Community Health Practitioners Registration Board of Nigeria (CHPRBN) held a combined induction ceremony for Community Health Extension Workers (CHEWs) and Junior Community Health Extension Workers (JCHEWs) graduands from Makasi College of Health Technology, Ugba, Tidoo School of Health Technology, Adikpo, and Mbagen College of Health Technology, Abwa, on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at Mbagen College of Health Technology, Abwa, in Buruku Local Government Area of Benue State.
In his opening speech, the Chairman of the occasion, Rev. Terver Timin, welcomed everyone for attending the event and advised the inductees to prioritize the spirit of saving lives and to refer cases where necessary. Rev. Timin further strengthened their faith, saying, "For everything you do openly or in secret, there is a reward for it." Therefore, they should have the fear of God in their service to humanity.
The Registrar/CEO of the Board, Dr. Bashir Idris (Lifidin Jam'a), who was represented by Alhaji Hassan, charged the inductees to be professional in their service to sustain the good name of the profession as rural healthcare workers. Dr. Bashir also encouraged them to always wear their professional uniforms with pride and dignity while on duty.
In their goodwill messages, representatives of the three institutions congratulated the inductees and prayed that the labour market would favor them. They also asked God to grant the Abuja team, which represented the Registrar/CEO of the Board, a safe journey back to their base.
Administering the oath, Barr. Bobby Tavershima charged the inductees to maintain the code of ethics of their profession and shun acts that could ruin their lives and that of their profession.
Mr. Andoor Manasseh Terfa, Chairman of the Planning Committee (CPC), in his vote of thanks, appreciated everyone for taking the time to attend the occasion. He prayed that Almighty God, in His infinite mercy, would grant everyone a safe journey to their destinations. The CPC Chairman delivered his vote of thanks through Chief Mrs. Christiana Shipinen Num, CPC Secretary.
Highlights of the event included the presentation of a paper titled "Effective Utilization of National Standing Orders: A Tool for Reducing Maternal and Child Mortality in Nigeria - The Role of Community Health Practitioners" by Dr. Joseph Korave. Additionally, Certificates of Registration with the Board, induction certificates, and licenses were presented to the inductees.
